Designing with Purpose. Driven by People.

I've built my career around one core belief: great products start with a deep understanding of people.

It all Starts with User Research

Human-Centered Design (HCD) starts with user research to build a clear, evidence-based understanding of the people a product or service is meant to support. Through this research, we uncover users’ goals, tasks, pain points, behaviors, and the context in which the solution will need to work. These insights replace assumptions with facts and provide the foundation for informed, strategic design decisions that lead to meaningful outcomes.

With a background in Human Factors and over two decades of experience in user research, I conduct reliable, valid studies that deliver deep, actionable insights. I translate these findings into impactful design artifacts—such as personas, journey maps, and user flows—that drive product and service strategy from concept through execution.

Optimizing with Iterative Design

Iterative design is a fundamental practice within HCD that builds upon the initial user research and ensures the user continues to inform product or service design decisions throughout its lifecycle. At each stage, user feedback is systematically gathered and applied to refine the design.

  • Early on, techniques like card sorting and tree testing produce a clear, intuitive information architecture.

  • As an idea takes shape, formative usability testing helps define an interface that meets users’ expectations and seamlessly integrates with workflows.

  • Before launch, summative evaluations confirm the key usability benchmarks are achieved.

  • After release, analytics and additional user feedback reveal how the product performs in real contexts—informing future improvements.

I’ve applied this iterative approach across a wide range of products and industries—from enterprise systems supporting mission-critical operations like port security, to responsive web applications for utility company customers, and native mobile apps to determine health insurance eligibility. In all cases, I’ve successfully led the design process through continuous evaluation and improvements, producing usable and impactful solutions that align with user needs to achieve desired outcomes.
